The Linda W. Chapin Theater, the 2,634-seat auditorium in the OCCC’s West Building, will soon be updated to best meet client needs and offer an even better experience to performers, attendees and show managers alike.
In the first wave of improvements, the theater’s existing lighting will be updated with new energy efficient LED lights. That update is expected to be completed in February.
The larger of the two projects, upgrades to the theater’s audio system, means a complete replacement of original equipment that has been used since its installation in 1995. Once completed, the OCCC’s Chapin Theater will have a state-of-the-industry performance audio system including new speakers, amplifiers and an all-new audio mixing console.
That project is expected to begin this spring and be completed in summer.
