Linda W. Chapin Theater

Offering aesthetic and technical perfection, the Linda W. Chapin Theater, located within the Orange County Convention Center’s (OCCC) West Building, provides an ideal venue for a diverse array of keynote speeches, award presentations, corporate events, dance or theatrical performances, pageants and more. State-of-the-art equipment and experienced staff can support the most sophisticated productions.

The Center's 2,643-seat Linda W. Chapin Theater is supported by four dressing rooms and a grand atrium lobby accommodating pre-event functions. Event catering is also available for theater events through the OCCC's exclusive food and beverage partner.

Key Renovation Highlights

Recently undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation, the Linda W. Chapin Theater now features:

  • New stage floor and orchestra pit system to enhance performance functionality.
  • Modern theater seats designed for optimal comfort and accessibility.
  • Replacement of existing carpet and vinyl composite tile (VCT) in the theater and front-of-house pre-function areas with modern, durable materials.
  • Upgraded acoustic fabric wall panels and wall coverings.
  • Fresh paint in the interior theater walls, select suspended ceiling clouds, and plenum vent covers under theater seats.
  • Upgraded lighting control system for enhanced operational efficiency, new strip lights at theater stairs and wall-mounted fixtures in the orchestra pit for improved ambiance and visibility.

History

The theater is named after Linda Welch Chapin, the first chairman of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners, serving from 1990 to 1998. The Chapin Theater was added as part of the Center's Phase III expansion, which was completed in January 1996.
