Recovery and Resiliency Plan for Business Continuity
The OCCC team is working hard to ensure business continuity at the OCCC, and to support of Orange County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As we begin to host modified live events, the OCCC’s Recovery and Resiliency Committee has developed a set of guidelines. The guidelines were approved by Orange County Government’s Health Services and the OCCC Executive Team. Those guidelines have been released to employees, all clients, stakeholders and media and are located on the OCCC website, www.occc.net/guidelines. Keeping the health and safety of guests, employees, and the community continues to be a priority. The OCCC will continue to monitor policy changes from the CDC, state and federal mandates.
Sanitation Measures
As a Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accredited venue, the OCCC has a disinfectant procedure in place for cleanings which adhere to the CDC and WHO guidance. Recognized as the gold standard of safe venues, the OCCC is one of the largest venues in the nation to receive the GBAC STAR™ accreditation. As a division of the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA), GBAC STAR™ is an industry accreditation that provides third-party validation to ensure the implementation of rigorous protocols in response to biorisk situations. Focused on ensuring a clean, safe and healthy environment, the program establishes requirements to assist venues by providing best practices, protocols and procedures to control risks associated with the COVID-19 virus.
The Center also has an increased number of hand sanitation sites available throughout the surrounding campus, providing alcohol-based hand sanitizer for all attendees and staff. Other precautionary measures include enhancing onsite communications and signage regarding CDC recommendations, increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and commonly touched objects like hand railings, door handles and ongoing training for OCCC staff and partners for best practices on providing a safe and healthy environment.
On-site Preparedness Plan
The OCCC recommends conventions implement handshake-free meetings and conventions for the foreseeable future.
