The Orange County Convention Center was selected as first place winners in the Convention Center Promotion category in the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Art of the Show 2016 competition.
The convention center’s campaign, called “Experience the New Orange,” highlighted the multiple Capital Improvement projects happening at the International Drive destination. Microsite, digital and print ads featured photos of the latest improvements at the convention center including the recently updated Tangerine Ballroom and new board rooms.
More than 140 entries were submitted for 15 categories this year. Only 35 entries won in their respective categories for their creative use of several essential marketing elements needed to promote exhibitions and events. In the OCCC’s winning category, judges critiqued creativity, effectiveness of message, design aspect and overall presentation.
“With so much happening around the Orange County Convention Center, it made sense to make those changes the focus of a marketing campaign,” said Kathie Canning, executive director of the Orange County Convention Center. “It’s an exciting time of growth here on International Drive and we wanted to capture some of that energy in our branding.”
