The Orange County Convention Center has begun the process of converting underutilized spaces around the campus into all-new Wellness Rooms, dedicated locations that can be utilized by new mothers for pumping and nursing; in addition to meditation, prayer and personal medical needs.
“Over the last several years, we have seen an increase in requests for a private space attendees can us for various wellness reasons, including prayer and nursing,” said Yulita Osuba, Deputy Director of the Orange County Convention Center. “Recognizing the needs of our guests, we’re pleased to soon offer a permanent, well-appointed area for them to call their own. Guest comfort is a high priority here at the Center of Hospitality and these new rooms help us extend that mission.”
Each room will be outfitted with a chair and table, ensuring comfort when the space is in use. Additionally, the rooms ensure privacy with the use of a lock that notifies others if the room is occupied or unoccupied.
Currently, three wellness rooms are open with one located in each the West, South and North concourses. At full buildout, the OCCC will have six of these rooms, with four located in the West Building and one each in the North and South buildings.
