The renovation construction will soon be completed this month for the West Building Hall C Food Court area. Lighting and wooden accents for the new counters are being placed. Food Court C will be transformed into a contemporary look and feel, transitioning it from a food court into a Dining Lounge. Various seating options, new banquettes, lighting and new layout will be arranged. In addition to new furniture, two new coffee bars will be added on either side of the space.
This makeover of the food court will coincide to the new and modern look that is being applied to further campus upgrades throughout the convention center. Project completion is estimated for December 31, 2016.
NOVEMBER 1, 2016 - CARPET & TILE RENOVATIONS
The process to update the flooring throughout the West Building has begun. New carpet and tile will be installed throughout the West Building to build a consistent look and aesthetic. The new tile will be 47,011.1 square feet which could cover the entire 2nd and 3rd floor of the Orange County Administration Building.
Clear signage will be placed to guide guests to their event throughout the building during construction times. The flooring is expected to reach completion for all of the West Building in this upcoming January 2017.

SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 - CENTER-TO-TABLE GARDENS
The Center-to-Table Gardens have reached completion. Located in the Westwood Lobby, the 2,000 sq. ft. Aeroponic structure has the ability to serve edibles grown on property in an all-natural, chemical-free environment. There are 81 towers cultivating 44 planting spots on each tower and will produce herbs and vegetables for meals prepared at the OCCC provided by our food service partner, Centerplate. Centerplate will also be responsible for the plants, seedlings and maintenance.
A total of 7 harvests have happened since the opening of the Center-to-Table Gardens. Plants are grown in increments in order to prevent having all the towers empty at one time. Therefore, all 81 towers will continuously have plants in them in various stages of growth. In just this week’s harvest alone a total of 783 plants will be ready for Centerplate to use as ingredients.

JUNE 1, 2016 - INTERNATIONAL BRIDGE UPDATE
The International Drive bridge spans over 400 feet from the ground level of the Hyatt Regency Hotel to the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). An exterior plaza and entry will be created on the existing colonnade roof top to enter the OCCC at the third level area of the Linda Chapin Theater. Access to the bridge includes escalators, stairs and elevators along three points of the span. The escalators at the Hyatt Regency landing will accommodate the demands of the east side of International Drive while the existing interior escalators in the OCCC will be available on the west side of International Drive.
This pedestrian bridge will be the fifth bridge to be built to connect nearby hotels to the Orange County Convention Center. The other four bridges are the Oversight, Hilton Orlando, Rosen Plaza and Rosen Centre Bridges. Unlike the other existing pedestrian bridges this bridge is being funded with Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) dollars and is considered "Everyone's Bridge", since the CRA represents all the International Drive Stakeholders.
